Immigration vs. RAPE!!!!!!!

I have done nothing for the past seven years but support and back Bush. But I have to admit that he is really chapping my ass with this Immigration Bill he is trying to peddle on Capitol Hill. I am confused as to how someone surrounded by the most brilliant advisors that a person can have can equate this bill with anything other then amnesty. There are many sides to this argument and a reoccurring theme in most of my posts is that there are no easy answers. Regarding immigration my solution is simple. Enforce the existing law. Before we start worrying about 100 more solutions that are not going to work, how about we just start with that. The fact is that we live in a new world and if you want to ignore everything else (strain on resources, loss of American jobs, loss of tax revenue to name a few), do not ignore the fact that if 5000 illegal's can cross the border each day in order to find jobs, how hard do you think it is going to be for those people who want to enter the country to carry out whatever harmful action against America that they choose? Like I said, it's a new world. Of course I could continue to follow the Homeland Security angle of this argument and develop several points that by themselves are enough to lock up the borders so tight that a field mouse couldn’t get into this country without the proper paperwork. But I’m not. I'm going to leave the "Global War on Terrorism" out of it. I am going to instead concentrate on how the real heart of this issue is not immigration at all but rather the RAPE of America.
The fact is that at the heart of it, if I’m being honest, we as Americans are spoiled and ultimately ungrateful for the country in which we live. It is this reason that most of us are missing the big picture on this issue. All we see is 11 million illegal aliens who are taking jobs and becoming a strain on the economy and on the resources of the USA, and that my friends (and foes) is not immigration. The fact is that 12 million people immigrated to the US between 1870 and 1900 and I doubt that many people then or now have a problem with that. I’m not saying that they were all given the red carpet welcome and that some of the same arguments were not made during that time (loss of jobs, blah blah resources, and so on and so on). The difference is that this country of ours, which is considered not only by us but also by other countries around the world as the greatest Nation on earth, was built on the backs of those immigrants. People who saw the USA for what it was and still is today, a land of great opportunity and unprecedented freedoms. Men who stayed behind to die in their own country so long as they could send their children to America to have better lives. America is what it is because of immigration. People who were not required to abandon their heritage/culture/religion but rather incorporate it into the ever-changing American identity. They came to America to become Americans. To work in this country and call it home. Many of who would later serve and defend our country as part of what we generally refer to as our greatest generation.
But those are not the people who are at the center of this highly volatile argument. We are instead talking about a group who come to America because they see great opportunities as well as unprecedented freedoms and a liberal cesspool of permissiveness that they can exploit to meet their own cause. They have no value for American ideals or for Americans. The motives vary. Some are from countries where there is a lack of jobs and they see America as a place they can easily come and find jobs they are willing to do them at a lower wage. So for all of you "They do the jobs that Americans won't do" nut jobs out there, give me a break. Americans would do these jobs if the employers did not get away with underpaying for the labor in the first place. So now that this immigrant is in the States working a job under the table or with improper documents, what is his contribution to society? NOTHING!!! He finds 5 or 6 friends in a similar situation to share a 2-bedroom apartment and they resist anything American and trash the American Flag while proudly waving the flag of their home country. Then when payday comes they pull out a meager stipend and export the rest of their American dollars to there home countries to be spent stimulating their economies and suck the life from ours. They pay no income taxes yet enjoy and consume public resources. Now, if this immigration bill goes though and some of our elected representatives have their way, next they will be collecting Social Security benefits that they have not contributed a blood nickel to. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is that make our leaders feel that this makes sense on any level.
The other group of people who are dying to get into this great nation are those who see our wonderful universities as place to develop superior educations and mastery in any range of fields from chemistry, to engineering, to aviation and the list goes on and on. Upon completing their schooling, is it their intention to become productive citizens of the global community and contribute thought and expertise to helping solve the crises of the world?? NOPE!!! They plan to return to their country and pass on the information to others and help create and develop weapons, machines, chemicals, social behaviors, and any number of other things for no purpose other then destroying the west in general and United States in particular.
So what then is my solution? I don't know. I refuse to say that we just lock up shop and refuse to let anyone into the country because that is not what America is about and with hesitation of sounding trite, I can't "let the terrorist's win". But without a doubt it is time for our leaders to act in the best interest of America and it's citizens rather then their own pockets or interests. To those people who have interest in all of the great things that America has to offer and respect that opportunity if given it, I say “Give me your tired, Your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breath free”. Come to America and take the steps necessary to be here and make your life all that it can be. To the rest of you, (luckily I am not yet running for public office), simply, GET LOST!!!

How do you feel about people who come to America (legal or otherwise) and do not learn to speak English? In this society of making room to adapt to the will of the masses, if the masses no habla ingles, no problemo. We, 8th generation Americans, are eager to learn a new language to serve you better. Shouldn't it be the reverse? A time of bilingualism with an ultimate goal of remaining primarily English?

Blog away! :)
